1. Information We Collect
To provide you with personalized fashion advice, we collect different types of data:
A. User-Provided Information
- Personal Identifiers: Name and email address, which you provide when you join our waitlist or create an account.
- User Content (Photos): Photos you voluntarily upload of yourself ("Selfies") or your clothing items ("Outfit Checks") to generate AI suggestions. Providing this content is entirely optional and never required to use our core features.
- Physical Attributes & Preferences: Information you may voluntarily choose to share, such as age, height, body type, skin tone preference, and style goals (e.g., "Quiet Luxury", "Streetwear"). None of this information is mandatory.
- Sharing with AI Processing Partners: To generate outfit suggestions, your photos and related attributes may be shared in anonymized form with our partnered AI model providers for processing.
B. Automatically Collected Data
- Device Data: Browser type and operating system information, collected automatically to ensure the app renders correctly on your device.
- Usage Data: How you interact with the app (e.g., button presses, which recommendations you save or discard), collected automatically as you use the service. We also use cookies and similar tracking technologies for analytics purposes, as described in Section 4.
2. How We Use Image Data & AI
Almen is built on Artificial Intelligence. When you upload a photo, the following process occurs:
- Analysis: Our systems analyze the image to identify clothing items, fabrics, colors, and fit. This analysis may be performed using our own algorithms, third-party AI models, or a combination of both, depending on the feature.
- Feedback Generation: The system compares your outfit against a style database to generate an "Almen Score" and written suggestions.
- Sharing with AI Partners: De-identified (anonymized) image data and the results generated from it may be shared with our third-party AI partners.
- Model Improvement (Ours and Theirs): We, and our AI partners, may use this de-identified data to train and improve our respective fashion and AI models.
- Further Sharing by Partners: Our AI partners may also share this de-identified data with other companies, including for purposes of improving their own models or services.
3. Sharing of Information
We are not in the business of selling your data. We only share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use trusted third-party providers to operate our service, including cloud hosting, payment processing, AI processing APIs, and analytics or data-processing services.
- AI Processing Partners: As described in Section 2, de-identified image data and related results may be shared with our AI partners, who may use it to improve their models or share it with other companies.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government regulation.
- Business Transfers: If Almen is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
